Anyone who knows me knows I have sweet tooth. More like sweet teeth. Ice cream, cakes, candy, you name it. So one day, while reading some food website or another, I came across a little write-up on Spot Dessert Bar. It was a short walk from my apartment, so I convinced my husband to go there one Saturday night.
The desserts are a fusion of Asian and classic American desserts. The portions are small enough so you can try 2, 3 desserts. Here is what we tried...
The white miso semifreddo. This is an olive oil cake served with raspberries and candied sesame. This was my husband's favorite.
The yuzu eskimo. Strawberries, oreo crumbs and passion fruit. Although this was our least favorite dessert of the three, the passion fruit foam was to die for.
Soft cheesecake. This was served with orange sections, blueberries and a walnut cookie crumb. I've always had a yen for cheesecake so this was the winner for me.
All in all, I had a great time trying the different desserts. I love the creative presentation of each dish. I've certainly had better desserts elsewhere, but I'd go back to try their cupcakes, cookies and exotic ice creams.
The white miso semifreddo is calling out to me - so I agree with your husband. But I would need to have a bite of all (I wish, I wish) to form an accurately delciious opinion.
